Lanka Eyes on Enhanced Trade with Antalya

ANKSRA :Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Türkiye Niluka Kadurugamuwa met with the President of
the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry Yusuf Hacısüleyman, and senior
officials of the Chamber on 01 October 2026 at the Chamber premises in Antalya.
The meeting focused on exploring opportunities for further strengthening bilateral trade
and economic cooperation between Sri Lanka and Antalya, with particular emphasis on
enhancing business-to-business (B2B) engagement and promoting trade and investment
opportunities.
During the discussion, the Ambassador highlighted Sri Lanka’s potential as a fine
destination for trade and investment for the business entities in Antalya and elaborated the
importance of strengthening commercial ties through greater private-sector engagement.
He also apprised the Chamber President of the upcoming Sri Lanka EXPO 2027,
scheduled to be held in January 2027 in Colombo, highlighting its importance as a
platform for Turkish businesses to explore trade, investment and partnership opportunities
in Sri Lanka. The President was requested to seek the possibility of organizing a buyer and
investor delegation from Antalya to participate in Sri Lanka EXPO 2027, under the
patronage of his Chamber.
The meeting also provided the opportunity to exchange views including on possible future
initiatives to facilitate business networking, promote bilateral trade, and strengthen
institutional cooperation between the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry and
relevant trade and investment institutions in Sri Lanka.
