COLOMBO : The Chairman of Laksala Sri Lanka Pradeep Gunawardana passed away due to COVID-19 at the Sir John Kotelawala Defence University Hospital in Werahera on Monday,May 17
Gunawardena,59, was also the Chief Executive Officer of the Salu Sala.
An engineer by profession, Pradeep Gunawardena has also served as Consul General of Sri Lanka in Los Angeles, Chairman of the State Trading Corporation and the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Standards Institution.
He was the organizer of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party in Colombo East and was the coordinating officer of former Minister Vajira Abeywardena as well as the media secretary of former Minister Tyrone Fernando. He was an old boy of Ananda College, Colombo.
