KANDY : President Ranil Wickremesinghe, paid a visit to the Katukelle Jumma mosque in the hill capital of Kandy on Sunday,April 7.
On arrival at the mosque , the president was received by the Secretary of its board of trustees K R M Sideek, board members. snd former provincial council member Lafeer Hajiar. They presented a memento to the president on behalf of the congregation . The president also signed the Guests Book of the mosque.
Speaking at the Iftar ceremony, the president revealed plans to establish a committee tasked with ensuring the respectful handling of final rites for individuals, including Muslims, in line with their respective religious customs or final wishes .
