KANDY ; In an act of fraternity, unity and compassion, under the leadership of Afzal Marikar, after many meetings and discussions, the Kandy Masjid Federation, together with the Kandy Muslim Traders Association and the Kandy City Jamiyyathul Ulama, opened the doors of Masjids in Kandy city to welcome thousands of Buddhist devotees visiting the exposition of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha.
Understanding the spiritual importance of this rare event and the large crowds that came from across the island, volunteers st noepped forward to offer refreshments, water bottles, and food packs—a simple gesture that spoke volumes.
This initiative was not just an act of hospitality—it was a sincere effort to build bridges between communities, and a beautiful reminder that faith can unite, rather than divide. Through kindness and mutual respect, we can celebrate our differences while embracing our shared humanity.
