COLOMBO — Special Prayers were held at all the Mosques on Friday December, 5 after Jumma Friday Prayers due to the recent flood affecting people and the country.
Ash Sheikh Hafil Abdul Khaliq conducted the prayers at Kollupitiya Jumma Mosque and he appealed to the Philanthropists of the Muslim Community to help people who were affected by the recent floods.He said that assistance should given to the deserving people irrespective of there religions. ” We should treat everybody alike,”, the Sheikh added.
Communities in all Districts have been affected by flooding, landslides and damage to homes and infrastructure.
Also Kollupitiya Jumma Mosque collects dry rations, food items and water bottles for providing immediate relief to displaced families.
