
COLOMBO: Japan has donated Rs 700 million worth of vehicles to fight terrorism and drug abuse in Sri Lanka.
The fleet of vehicles and equipment were handed over to President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa by Japanese Ambassador Misukoshi Hideyaki Tuesday,Feb 08 in Colombo.
The donation includes 28 Land Cruisers, a Prado car, a stock of equipment including a mobile scanner to detect explosives and narcotics.
“ My gratitude goes to the Government of Japan for donating Rs. 700 million worth of vehicles & equipment that can be used to tackle drugs and fight terrorism in Sri Lanka. I am confident that with this aid, Sri Lanka will get a step closer to the goal of eradicating drugs and terrorism,”the president Gotabaya Rajapaksa said in a statement issued following the donation in Colombo,
