Jama’athe Islami in EP conducts workshop on “Intellectual Discourse – A Way Forward for Peace and Development”

BATTICOLA — Sri Lanka Jama’athe Islami Batticaloa Region conducted a workshop under the theme of “Intellectual Discourse – A Way Forward for Peace and Development” on Sunday July 14 at Sun Shine Grand Banquet Hall, Batticaloa

The event featured prominent speakers addressing various aspects of Co-existence. Dr. V. Gunapalasingham, Dean Faculty of Arts, Eastern University, Prof. S. Mounaguru, and Prof. T. Jayasingham presented papers exploring co-existence from historical, social, and cultural perspectives. M.T.M. Rizvi Majeedi, Senior Lecturer, Eastern University provided an overview and perspective of the workshop, while  Abdul Wajid, Senior Lecturer at the Batticaloa National College of Education highlighted Sri Lanka Jama’athe Islami’s recent initiatives on co-existence.

M.B.M. Firdous, Chairman of Bismi Institute, shared insights on the way forward for co-existence, and retired educationist A.M.A. Cader contributed his wealth of experience.

The workshop, chaired by  A.B.M. Musthafa Islahi, Batticaloa Region In-Charge of Sri Lanka Jama’athe Islami, and moderated by  M. Thowfeek, a Ph.D. Scholar from International Islamic University Malaysia.

The workshop attracted a diverse audience including senior government officials, civil society representatives, religious leaders, and undergraduate students.
