COLOMBO – the Colombo Grand Mosque has announced that a new moon for the month of Shawwal was sighted. Therefore “ Eid Ul Fitr “ Ramazan Festival will be celebrated 22nd Saturday April.
The decision was taken at a meeting attended by President of the All Ceylon Jammiyyathul Ulema (the Supreme Council of Muslim Theologians of Sri Lanka) Ash Sheik M. I. M. Rizvi Mufthi, Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs Director Faizal Abdeen and Colombo Grand Mosque President Thowfeek Zubyr were present evening after Maghrib prayers at the Colombo Grand Mosque.
