Iranian film – ” SNIPER ‘ based on the life of Abdolrasoul Zarrin will be shown on Wednesday, April 29, in Colombo

The Iran Cultural Center will host a special Iranian film screening of ” SNIPER ‘ based on the life of Abdolrasoul Zarrin, one of Iran’s most wartime snipers. The screening will take place on Wednesday, April 29, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Iran Cultural Center, Colombo.

Directed by Ali Ghaffari, the film portrays Zarrin’s role during the Iran–Iraq War, where he became known for his exceptional marksmanship and battlefield impact.
Abdorrasul Zarrin was a legendary Iranian military sniper during the Iran–Iraq War. He is widely regarded as one of the most effective snipers in modern warfare.
Zarrin served in the Iranian army’s special units and later worked closely with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. He became known for his exceptional marksmanship, stealth, and patience on the battlefield.

Born in 1941 in a village near the town of Qalegol, Kohkiluyeh-Boyerahmad Province, Abdorrasul Zarrin lost his parents in childhood and his uncle retained custody of him.

The real-life drama “The Sniper”, which portrays Abdorrasul Zarrin who was one of the most lethal snipers in the Iranian forces during the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war, .

Actors from Egypt, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, and Senegal also appear in the film, portraying Iraqi snipers. The movie is directed by Ali Ghaffari, who previously gained recognition for his 2012 historical thriller Reclamation.
