
RUZAIK FAROOK
COLOMBO : A commemoration marking International Quds Day, observed on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan, was held on March 13 at the Cultural Section of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Colombo.
The event was attended by a number of distinguished local and international guests. Among those present were prominent journalist and commentator Mohan Samaranayake, leading economist, advisor, and entrepreneur Darrel Roshan Madawela, who serves as the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Research Intelligence Unit (RIU), also known as RIUNIT, and veteran diplomat Maznavee Sadiq, who has served as an ambassador to several countries.
The programme featured thoughtful discussions on the struggle for the liberation of Palestine, as well as broader reflections on current global economic, social, and political developments.
During the event, the Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Dr. Ali Kebrayaei Zadeh, delivered an insightful address highlighting Iran’s perspective on promoting dialogue and contributing to the pursuit of global peace
The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Mir Fatimi, the Sri Lanka Representative of Al-Mustafa International University.
The programme was organised by the Iranology Society in Sri Lanka.
