COLOMBO : The International Conference on Quality Education 2026, jointly organized by the International Association For Quality Education (IAFQE) and Amazon College, was held recently at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute, Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The conference brought together academics, education professionals, researchers, and 17 international delegates from India and Nepal to discuss the advancement of quality preschool education, innovative educational practices, and international academic collaboration.
As a TVEC-registered higher education institution, Amazon College reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high academic standards and promoting excellence in education.
The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Prof. Kshanika Hirimburegama, former Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and former Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo.
The distinguished guests and speakers included:
G. L. Wernon Perera – Secretary, Ministry of Education, Culture and Arts & Youth Affairs, Western Province.
Prof. Ranjith Bandara – Emeritus Professor, University of Colombo; Sri Lankan economist, academic, former Member of Parliament, and former Chairman of the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE).
Nilantha Ekanayake – Former Director, Early Childhood Development Authority, North Central Province, Sri Lanka.
Mr. Janaka Kamalgoda – President, International Association for Quality Education (IAQE).
Ilham Marikar – Director, Amazon College & Campus.
The conference also welcomed numerous international delegates from India and Nepal, who actively participated in academic discussions and networking sessions. A significant number of researchers presented their research proposals and scholarly papers, contributing to the exchange of knowledge and best practices in education.
Awards of Appreciation were presented to the guest speakers, presenters, and delegates in recognition of their valuable contributions to the success of the conference.
The conference concluded successfully, reflecting Amazon College’s continued dedication to academic excellence, professional development, research, and international educational partnerships.
