
KEGALLE :Interfaith religious leaders representing the Sri Lanka National Interfaith Clergy Fellowship visited the village of Karagoda in Yatiyantota, Kegalle District, Friday (20/12 to support communities affected by the Ditwa Cyclone disaster.
The delegation included Ven. Dr. Sasthrapathi Galagama Dammaransi Nayaka Thero, Sivasri Kalapooshanam Wenkat Subramaniya Kurukkal, Al-Haj Ash-Seyed Dr. Hassan Moulana Al-Quadiri and Rt. Father Bishop Frince J. Gnanaraja, who collectively offered counseling and emotional support to residents from all religious backgrounds, including Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, and Christians.
In addition to counseling services, the interfaith team distributed dry ration packs and clothing to families affected by the Ditwa. cyclone Disaster to address their immediate humanitarian needs.
A key highlight of the visit was the conduct of Inter-religious prayers, jointly offered for national well-being, social harmony, and the prosperity of all people in Sri Lanka.
This humanitarian initiative stood as a powerful symbol of unity, compassion, and cooperation beyond religious and ethnic differences, reinforcing the vital role of interfaith solidarity during times of crisis.
