Indira Cancer Trust to hold its final awareness campaign on Monday,Nov.16 at CMC premises

COLOMBO – The Indira Cancer Trust, which plays a unique role in cancer prevention and awareness in the
country, has organized the TLC (TOUCH / LOOK / CHECK) Triathlon 2025, combining sports
and health education to highlight the importance of early detection of breast cancer at 7 am on Monday, Nov.16 at the COLOMBO municipal premises.

This is the first national level triathlon series in the country to take the message of breast self-examination to
the public. The competition is organized by combining swimming, cycling and running and in
addition to the sporting events, healthcare professionals and trained volunteers will educate
participants on the TLC method, an effective method for self-examination for early signs of breast
cancer, using live demonstrations.
The competition is being held across four cities: Kilinochchi, Batticaloa, Matara, and Colombo.
The events in Kilinochchi, Batticaloa, and Matara have already been successfully completed, with
the Colombo segment yet to take place. Accordingly, the final stage / Colombo district program is
scheduled to be held on 16.11.2025 at 07.00 AM at the Colombo Municipal Council premises
with the participation of a number of contestants under the patronage of the Governor of the
Western Province, Hanif Yusuf, the Mayor of the Colombo Municipal Council,
Vrai Kelly Balthasar, and a number of distinguished guests.
