Indian Air Force chief is on an official visit to Colombo

COLOMBO : The Chief of the Indian Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, arrived in Sri Lanka Monday, May (18) on a three-day official visit. He is scheduled to remain in the country until 21 May.

Tuesday morning, Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh paid floral tributes at the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) Memorial in Battaramulla. Subsequently, he arrived at Air Force Headquarters, where he was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour. Thereafter, an official meeting was held between the Commanders of the two Air Forces. He also met with the Deputy Minister of Defence and the Defence Secretary.

The visit has been organized with the objective of further strengthening the longstanding defence cooperation and mutual friendship between the two nations.

During his visit, Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh is also scheduled to pay homage and seek blessings at the historic Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in c Sri Lanka Army and Sri Lanka Navy.
