COLOMBO: Opposition parliamentarian Dr. Harsha De Silva said there is no one in Sri Lanka who will be able to meet the Central Banks 100% cash margin requirement for imports.
The MP representing the Samagi Jana Balavegaya told reporters that at present even commercial banks do not release USD 1,000 for locals as the economy is not in a good position.
He said while banks are not prepared to release dollars, sellers in Wellawatte and Pettah sell dollars at high prices.
