COLOMBO – The Institute of Digital Media & Journalism (IDMJ)hosted a Special Dua and Prayer Session for the safety, relief and recovery of the victims affected by the recent floods in Nepal.
The programme was held at Dewatagaha Jumma Masjid, Colombo, with the participation of Vijay Kumar Raut, Charge d’ Affaires of the Embassy of Nepal to Sri Lanka as the Chief Guest.
Representing IDMJ, the programme was attended by Senior Journalist Ruzaik Farook, Chief Advisor of IDMJ; Umair Nawshad, Executive Director of IDMJ; Zamil Shafeek, Administrative Director of IDMJ; and Musthaq Hussain, Chief Coordinator of IDMJ
The Dewatagaha Jumma Masjid was represented by Dr. A. A. Mohammed Haroon , Chairman of Dewatagaha Jumma Masjid; Bin Muhammed, Managing Trustee; and As-Seyed Dr. Hassan Moulana, Religious Committee Member of Dewatagaha Jumma Masjid.
Mrs. Shashee Malala sekara, Secretary of the Sri Lanka–Nepal Business Council also joined the programme, representing the Nepal Sri Lanka business council.
Among the other special guests who participated were Kaleelur Rahuman, Colombo Municipal Councillor and General Secretary of the United Peace Alliance and Marshad Bari Senior Journalist
The gathering offered prayers for the safety and wellbeing of those affected by the floods, while expressing solidarity with the victims, their families and the affected communities in Nepal.
The programme also served as a meaningful expression of humanitarian solidarity and friendship between Sri Lanka and Nepal bringing together representatives from the diplomatic, religious, civic, business and media sectors.
The Special Dua and Prayer Session was organized by IDMJ as an expression of solidarity with the people of Nepal during this difficult time.
