ABU DHABI: Two Round 1, Group A matches are scheduled today between Netherlands and Namibia at 3.30 pm and Sri Lanka and Ireland at 7.30 pm. Both matches will be held at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi
At the moment all 4 teams in the group A has played once and Sri Lanka heads the points table with 2 points and a Net Run Rate (NRR) of 2.607 closely followed by Ireland with also 2 points but a lower NRR (1.755) than Sri Lanka. Today’s match will be important to decide which Group, Sri Lanka will join in the Super 12s on the basis that Sri Lanka will be able to secure at least one more win.
In addition to the above, four warm up matches are also scheduled today in Dubai and Abu Dhabi as follows.
Australia Vs India – 3.30 pm – Dubai
England Vs New Zealand – 3.30 pm – Abu Dhabi
Pakistan Vs South Africa – 7.30 pm – Abu Dhabi
Afghanistan Vs West India – 7.30 pm – Dubai
The above warm up matches are for the top 8 teams that are already qualified for the Super 12s. (RZ)
