Wariyapola A moment of pride, gratitude, and celebration unfolded on 18 September 2026 as Nika/Minuwangete Babul Adam Muslim Maha Vidyalaya officially received its long-awaited new two-storey school building, marking a historic milestone in the school’s journey and a transformative achievement for the entire community.
The official handing-over ceremony brought together students, parents, teachers, alumni, community leaders, and well-wishers to celebrate the completion of a project that symbolizes perseverance, unity, and the power of collective goodwill.
For more than fifteen years, the school community endured significant hardships due to inadequate infrastructure. Generations of students were compelled to continue their education under difficult conditions, studying in intense heat during dry seasons and coping with leaking roofs and unsafe learning environments during periods of heavy rain.
Despite numerous promises over the years, progress remained elusive. Determined to create a better future for their children, community members courageously initiated the construction of a new school building through their own efforts and contributions. However, midway through the project, financial resources were exhausted, forcing construction to come to a standstill and leaving the community facing considerable uncertainty and disappointment.
At this critical juncture, hope arrived through the generosity and compassion of Al Hajj TLM Nawash, whose timely support transformed the future of the project. Through the facilitation and coordination efforts of a dedicated alumnus of the school, a connection was established between the struggling community and the benefactor.
Speaking at the ceremony, members of the community expressed profound gratitude for the invaluable contribution that made this dream a reality. The new facility stands not only as a physical structure but also as a symbol of resilience, faith, community spirit, and the shared commitment to providing quality education for future generations.
The completion of the building represents a new chapter for Nika/Minuwangete Babul Adam Muslim Maha Vidyalaya. It will provide improved educational opportunities, enhanced learning conditions, and renewed hope for hundreds of students who will benefit from the facility in the years ahead.
As the doors of the new building officially open, the community celebrates not just a completed construction project, but the realization of a long-held dream that will positively impact generations to come.
The event was presided by the school principal, Mr. Nawash was the chief guest and Mr. Wanninayaka, Zonal Director of Education – Nikawaratiya, Mr. Faizer Khan, Country Director of Musli Aid Sri Lanka, were attended as the guest of honors and Ash- Sheikh SHM Faleel – senior lecturer Jamiah Naleemiah institute was the guest speaker for the event while teachers, parents, students, well-wishers and large number of community members graced the event.
