High Commissioner of India Extends Assistance to Students in Eastern Province

KALMUNAI : , High Commissioner of India Santosh Jha gifted study tables and chairs to students across eight schools of Kalmunai city in Ampara District on Wednesday, OCT.29

The beneficiaries include Al Ashraf National School, Al Mazhar Girls’ High School, Addappallam Sahitha Vidyalaya, Imam Gazzaly Vidyalaya, Al Mina Vidyalaya and Arafa Vidyalaya School in Nintavur; Al Matheena Vidyalaya in Maruthamunai; and Al Ashraf Maha Vidyalaya in Mawadippalli.

Members of Parliament, Rishad Bathiudeen and Mohamed Tahir; Zonal Director of Education Kalmunai, MS. Najeem; along with principals, teachers and students from the eight schools attended the event held at Al Mazhar Girls’ High School, Nintavur.

High Commissioner Jha is on an official visit to the Eastern Province from 28–30 October as part of the continued outreach of the High Commission of India in the Province.

Earlier, on 28 October, the High Commissioner inaugurated a RO Water Plant and a Bus Shelter at Komari village in Pottuvil Division. During the visit, the High Commissioner is also scheduled to launch a special financial assistance scheme with Indian grant for meritorious students of the Eastern University from economically weaker sections of society.
