High Commission of Sri Lanka hosts an Iftar Gathering to Mark Ramadan in Singapore

COLOMBO : The High Commission of Sri Lanka in Singapore hosted an Iftar gathering to observe the spirit of Ramadan with the members of the Sri Lankan Muslim community residing in Singapore on 19 March 2026.   

Member of Parliament of Singapore, Saktiandi Supaat, graced the occasion as the guest of honour. High Commissioner Senarath Dissanayake welcomed the guests and underscored the significance of Ramadan. Qari Sheikh Ibrahim from Ba’alwieMosque, Singapore, led the religious observances.  After breaking the fast, the attendees performed Maghrib prayers.

The evening concluded with a traditional Sri Lankan Iftar dinner arranged by the High Commission, offering guests an opportunity to savour Sri Lankan cuisine. The event created a deep sense of belonging among the Sri Lankan expatriate community, emphasising the values of compassion and togetherness.
