COLOMBO — The Colombo Grand Mosque has announced that the new moon for the month of Dul Hajj was sighted in several parts of the country on Thursday June 30th evening.
The Muslims in Sri Lanka will celebrate the festival of Eid ul Azha (Hajj Festival) on Sunday July 10th 2022.
Representatives of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs Department Acting Director Anver Ali, Colombo Grand Mosque Moulavi A.M.M. Rila, All Ceylon Jamiyathul Ulama Ash Sheik M. Illyas and Colombo Grand Mosque President Thowfiq Zubyr were present at this conference.
The Thakbeer will commence on the 09th of July from Fajr Prayers until the 13th of July till Asar prayers.
