
COLOMBO : The Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs and the Hajj Committee, in coordination with the Ceylon Hajj Tour Operators’ Association of Sri Lanka and All Ceylon Hajj Tour Operators’ Association, made the repayment of Refundable Deposits to the Hajj Travel Operators in 2018 and 2022, at an Iftar program, at the Mandarina Hotel, Galle Road, Colombo 3 on Thursday, April 6 .
Vidura Wickramanayake, Minister of Budhdasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Z.A.M. Faisal,Director, Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs told Colombo Times that under the leadership of the Buddhasasana and Religious and Cultural Affairs,said the Hajj services for Lankans will be further improved this year for the benefit of the pilgrims.
The National Hajj Committee Chairman Ibrahim Sahib Ansar said that under the leadership of Vidura Wickremanayake as minister in charge of Muslim Religious and Cultural Afffairs, the Hajj Committee has got an official space within the department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs Department. Furthermore he added that this year all Hajj operators can directly deal with the Hajj operations and all those who apply for the pilgrimage to Makkah will be allowed to go with the necessary concessions.
The minister also made a brief speech before the distribution of refundable deposits to the travel operators.
