BERUWELA — The 50th Founders Day Celebration of Jamiah Naleemiah Islamic Institute, Beruwela was held at the Institute Auditorium on Sunday February 11.
In 1973, Jamiah Naleemiah was established by philanthropist late M.I.M. Naleem Hajiar at Beruwela China Fort.
The commemorative stamp on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of Naleemiah was released and presented the first copy of the first day cover to the chief guest Member of Parliament Marjan Faleel.
The publication of a book on the history of Jamiah Naleemiah was launched and presented the first copy of the book to the former high Commissioner of Sri Lanka to the United Kingdom President Counsel Faisz Musthapha from author of book and Senior Lecturer of Jamiah Naleemiah Institute Ash Sheikh Arafath Careem.
Also chief guest inaugurated the Solar Power Project and organizers felicitated founders of this institution at this ceremony.
The special guest Naleemiah Institute Management President Yakooth Naleem, guest of honour Institute Director Ash Sheikh A.C. Agar Mohamed, Member of Parliament Imtiaz Bakeer Markar, institute lecturers, students, family members of the founders and scholars were also present.
