CoLOMBO – Hundreds of visitors who came to the Galle Face Green on the eve of the New Year to spend the midnight with their kith and Kin and friends were disappointed when the Galle Face Green was barricaded.
They had to move off to the opposite side of the Green and were spending the night on the pavements and the green area near the statue of S W R D Bandaranaike.
People’s favorite short eats stall and restaurants were not there last night because of the fenced area which covered three fourths of the Green.
