“ Goodbye my friend… untill we meet again woke up to the devastating news of passing away of Zulki Hamid. Lost his father famous former Ruggerite Tanker Hamid yesterday and today, Zulki is gone. Just a week ago he messaged me and all his friends, loved ones thanking all for the prayers after recovering from Covid and now this. We all gonna miss him terribly, we were to do a show on Quadrangle with few of his Cricketing friends Roshan Antony Prasann Leanage Naresh Adhikaram in March but due to various reasons it got postponed. I regret it very much, now. Zulki was a great servant of Royal College Cricket and a livewire at Royal-Thomian Joint Committee for a long time. A wonderful friend, a beautiful soul.”

Sad news this morning.

Mr. Zulki Hamid, former Sports Committee Chairman, All Ceylon YMMA Conference and former Special Member passed away this morning.

I happened to know him and work with him in YMMA and he was a wonderful and charming personality with a charisma parallel to none.

He was a devout social worker and a kindhearted person.

I hear his father passed away yesterday and today it’s him.

All the good people of the world are leaving!

Innaa lillahi wainnaa ilaihi rajioon

Allahum maghfirlahu Warhamhu wa’aafini wa’fu anhu.

You go ahead my friend. We shall follow soon! “
