. A touching moment during the ceremony came from twelve-year-old Raidaa Ziard, a student of Wycherley International School and one of the youngest artists featured. Delivering the welcome speech, Raidaa shared: the welcome speech, Raidaa shared:
“Mandala art helps heal stress and anxiety. Repeatedly drawing intricate, detailed designs brings us into a meditative state. It improves our focus and concentration, and fosters creativity by encouraging us to experiment with different patterns and colors. Since I began drawing mandalas, I’ve grown by leaps and bounds. Looking back at my journey fills me with joy.”
She also paid tribute to her mentor:
“Art can only be truly taught by a profound teacher. It is said that who teaches is just as important as what is being taught. Ms. Ransirini has been an incredible mentor—she shared with me every technique and insight she had about mandala art. I am forever grateful for the knowledge and inspiration I’ve gained from her.”
The exhibition is open to the public from July 18 to July 31, 2025, daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, at Siam Nivasa (Thai Embassy Premises)-43, Dr. C.W.W. Kannangara Mawatha, Colombo 7.
