COLOMBO – Educationist Mrs. Faleela Jurangpathy passed away at the age of 84 following a brief illness.
Mrs. Juranpathy served as the Principal of Muslim Ladies’ College, Colombo 04, from 1996 to 2003 dedicating many years of her life to the education and development of young women.
Following her retirement, she continued her service in the field of education, serving as Principal of Burhani Serendib School, City High School, and Harcourts International School.
She began her teaching career at Al Hambra Vidyalaya, Aluthgama and Henamulla Muslim Vidyalaya**, where she laid the foundation for a long and distinguished career in education.
Beyond her professional life, Mrs. Juranpathy was deeply committed to social service. She was actively involved for many years with organisations including the Sri Lanka–Pakistan Friendship Association and the Association of Muslim Women Professionals and Entrepreneurs contributing generously to the betterment of society.
Her demose marks the loss of a respected educationist, mentor, and dedicated social worker whose services would. remain unforgettable .
The Janazah will be taken after Asr prayers to the Dehiwala Muslim Burial Ground.
