Former Foreign Minister Ali Sabry completes 30 Years at the Bar

COLOMBO : Former Foreign minister has completed three decades of service in the bar, according to his statement made in his Face Book, on Monday December 15.

Excerpt from his FB on the same day:

” Today, I complete 30 years in legal practice.

It began with humble beginnings with brickbats and bouquets, highs and lows, pauses and returns. There were moments when I fell, but each time stood up, learnt from my pitfalls, and moved forward stronger and steadier. I truly enjoyed the ride.

This journey was never mine alone. I remember with gratitude my parents and family for their sacrifices, patience, and values that shaped me long before the law did. I remain deeply thankful to my mentors and seniors, whose guidance and example continue to influence my work.

To my chamber mates and colleagues, thank you for the fellowship, shared responsibility, and mutual respect that define our profession.

A special and heartfelt word of thanks to my juniors and the members of my Chambers, past and present. Your unwavering commitment, loyalty, professionalism, and sense of ownership carried us through trials and tribulations. Many of these milestones would not have been possible without you.

During this journey, I also stepped away at times to serve in public office and diplomacy. Those experiences broadened my perspective and reinforced an enduring truth life goes on, the work goes on, and the fight for what is right must go on.

With gratitude and humility, I mark this milestone , conscious that expectations remain, and duty continues.

No competition. No comparison. Just the resolve to rise, learn from every fall, and become a better version of myself.

30 years. Still learning. Still standing. Still grateful.”
