COLOMBO ; A female student from an international school jumped off from the observation deck of the Colombo Lotus Tower in an apparent case of suicide, on Monday ,Oct. (07) afternoon.
The incident occurred between 3.30 and 4.00 pm, according to Police.
The deceased girl has been identified as a 15 years-old resident of Kollupitiya who was studying in Grade 11 in a reputed international school in Colombo.
CCTV footage shows that this girl came alone to Lotus Tower in civilian clothing, left her bag and shoes at the observation deck, and jumped from the 29th floor. Police have also found her school uniform and her mobile phone, which was switched off at the time, inside her bag.
The body was found on the third floor and the area was declared off-limits to the public, and several police teams have begun investigations.pix courtesy CDN
