COLOMBO : Commissioner General of Essential Services Prabath Chandrakeerthi announced that every Wednesday will be declared a special government holiday until further notice in order to address potential fuel supply issues arising from the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.
He made this statement while participating in a special media briefing held at the Department of Government Information this afternoon (16).
He further stated that heads of state institutions have been given the authority to decide the number of employees required to report to work during the remaining four working days of the week.
