ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

COLOMBO : THE National Unity Alliance headed by former governor Azath Salley has expressed deep outrage and sorrow, and also condemned in the strongest terms the cowardly Israeli airstrike in Doha, Qatar, which targeted the Hamas negotiating team and a ceasefire discussion during a moment of hope. ” This brazen assault claimed innocent lives, including a Qatari security officer, and has shattered fragile peace efforts.,” The statement added

” This strike was executed within the sovereign territory of Qatar, a historic and unforgivable violation of international law and national integrity. Qatar, a trusted mediator alongside Egypt and the United States, has every right to condemn this as an act of aggression.

The United Nations Secretary General António Guterres rightly denounced the attack as a “flagrant violation” of Qatari sovereignty and warned that such actions must not derail the search for a lasting ceasefire.

We call upon all Muslim majority nations to rise with one voice:

  1. Condemn Israel’s brutality and disregard for international norms.
  2. Stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine and the people of Qatar as they pursue justice and peace.
  3. Demand an immediate end to occupation and oppression, and a return to meaningful dialogue based on justice and respect, no more hollow promises or brutal betrayals.

The time has passed for lukewarm statements. The world is watching, our unity must be an unbreakable force against territorial aggression and human suffering.”
