COLOMBO : The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) on Saturday,Nov.15, honoured several pioneering recruitment agencies for completing an exceptional 40 years of dedicated service to the foreign employment sector. The ceremony, held in Colombo, celebrated the longstanding contributions of agencies that have played a vital role in strengthening Sri Lanka’s overseas workforce and supporting thousands of families across the nation.

Addressing the gathering, SLBFE officials highlighted the remarkable journey of these agencies, acknowledging their commitment to ethical recruitment, worker welfare, and national development. Over the past four decades, these organizations have helped create employment opportunities abroad, contributed significantly to the country’s foreign revenue, and upheld the reputation of Sri Lankan workers worldwide.
The award, presented as a recognition of excellence and perseverance, symbolises the agencies’ unwavering service through changing global trends, policy reforms, and economic challenges. Many of the recipients were among the earliest registered recruitment partners of SLBFE, making them true pioneers in the field.
Expressing his gratitude for the recognition, Zaman Thaha said the milestone reflects teamwork, resilience, and continuous adaptation to ensure safe and efficient foreign employment processes for Sri Lankans.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment from both SLBFE and the award-winning agencies to further strengthen the sector, enhance worker protection, and continue contributing positively to Sri Lanka’s labour migration landscape.
