EDITORIAL : Sri Lanka needs ready hands and strong minds tor its uplift following the natural disaster

COLOMBO : The donation of Rs 250 million made by former president Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga on behalf of Bandaranaike Foundation to the flood relief fund is a great eye opener for those who are trying to politicize the natural calamity into a platform to mock the ruling government which is sincerely trying to do its best to help people and country come out of this impasse.

The nation is saddened with some 635 deaths, loss of men, properties , infrastructure buildings , people’s houses household things etc etc . The tragedy has made men and women from other parts of the island to come to the affected areas and help those affected and console them in their own ways . There is no discrimination in religion , caste or creed and all are looked alike as Sri Lanlans during the implementation of these programmes .

The government is also doing its utmost to help the country to rebuild and rehabilitate the affected people in their own environment.

Critics are busy doing their best to make a mockery out of the whole tragedy which has created a trauma not only among those affected but also among the people who have humane sentiments .

This is a time we need ready hands and strong minds to help the nation to restore the country to its pristine glory .

Those with stinking hearts will keep on barking at the caravan for nothing . Let the caravan moves on to reach its destination to provide the people with good health, wealth and make MotherLanka a happy place to live in !
