COLOMBO ; Dr. Al-Haj Fazul Jiffry Mohamed, a distinguished businessman, philanthropist, and alumnus of Al-Mubarak National College, was awarded a prestigious Doctorate (PhD) during a special ceremony held on March 28, 2026, at the UK Parliament in London.
The event recognized globally influential individuals, with approximately 150 researchers selected from various countries for their outstanding academic and social contributions. Among them, Dr. Fazul Jiffry was honored with a Doctorate Degree for his research titled “Thesis on Climate Change & Human Responsibility,” highlighting his commitment to addressing critical global environmental challenges.
This recognition at the UK Parliament is considered highly prestigious, as only individuals of significant global impact are acknowledged on such a platform.
Dr. Fazul Jiffry has received numerous international awards for his extensive humanitarian and social service efforts. His journey began at Al-Mubarak National College, after which he pursued higher education at the University of Jaffna and the University of Colombo. Starting his professional career as a chartered accountant in Singapore, he rose through dedication and perseverance to become an internationally respected entrepreneur.
Currently residing in Singapore and Australia, he serves as the Chief Executive Officer of multiple companies. He is also the founder of the Sahara Foundation, through which he is actively engaged in humanitarian initiatives and social service projects at a global scale.
