COLOMBO : Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (MP) Dinesh Gunawardena took his oaths as the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka before President Ranil Wiclremesinghe,on Friday, July 22.
The swearing-in took place at the Prime Minister’s Office on Flower Road.
MP Dinesh Gunawardena becomes the 15th Prime Minister of Sri Lanka.
He has served as a Member of Parliament, Cabinet Minister, and Leader of the House in the Parliament of Sri Lanka.
Gunawardena is the current leader of the left-wing Mahajana Eksath Peramuna (MEP) party since 1983 which was founded by his father Phillip Gunawardena .
