COLOMBO — Patron of the All Ceylon Young Men’s Muslim Association (YMMA) Conference and Chairman of the International Affairs Committee, Fawzan Anver; National President M.R.M. Ziyatd; Chairman of the Scholarship Committee, Rizvi Farook; and Secretary of the International Affairs Committee, Ruzaik Farook, paid a courtesy call on Malaysian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Badli Hisham Adam on Thursday, September 1.
During the meeting, the delegation discussed bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Malaysia, with particular emphasis on strengthening cooperation and promoting people-to-people ties between the two countries.
Scholarship opportunities for deserving Sri Lankan students were also discussed. Scholarship Committee Chairman Rizvi Farook briefed the High Commissioner on the YMMA scholarship programme and presented a scholarship project proposal for his consideration and support.
Meanwhile, International Affairs Committee Chairman Fawzan Anver briefed the High Commissioner on the activities of the YMMA Conference, which operates through 176 branches across the country. He highlighted several key initiatives undertaken by the organisation, including youth leadership development and educational programmes.
High Commissioner Badli Hisham Adam, in turn, briefed the delegation on educational opportunities and scholarship programmes available in Malaysia, as well as developments in the areas of business and finance.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to exploring further opportunities for cooperation, particularly in the areas of education, youth development, scholarships, and people-to-people relations between Sri Lanka and Malaysia.
