COLOMBO : A delegation headed by the President from the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL), met the Bangladesh High Commissioner, Salahuddin Mahmud at the Chancery on Tuesday, Sept.15
The meeting focused on practical ways to strengthen Bangladesh–Sri Lanka trade, investment and business cooperation. The High Commissioner reaffirmed Bangladesh’s commitment to expanding bilateral economic ties and highlighted the importance of connecting businesses and institutions to translate shared interests into concrete opportunities.
Discussions explored potential collaboration in digital technology and IT-enabled services, start-ups, homestay tourism, environmental initiatives and sports.
The FCCISL delegation outlined its activities to promote entrepreneurship and private-sector development across Sri Lanka, along with plans for an international exhibition in January 2027. The meeting also explored possible Bangladeshi participation in the exhibition and opportunities to strengthen regional business networks in South Asia.
The High Commissioner assured the delegation of the High Commission’s continued support in facilitating business connections and strengthening people-to-people ties for mutual benefits
