Daily News staffer gets Top 100 award

COLOMBO: Rasika Somarathna, News Editor of the Ceylon Daily News who was selected as a winner of the Top 100 programme received the  award from chief guest Minister of Justice Wijedasa Rajapakse in the presence of Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation Chairman Hudson Samarasinghe, Ahasa Media Network Advisor Hassim Omar and  Executive Director Saman Chandraratne.

Ahasa Media Network had organized Sri Lankan Top 100 Leaders Awards Ceremony at the BMICH, Colombo on Saturday Aug. 26. The awards were presented for various fields such as education, sports, culture, arts, media, business, social service, bridal dressing, graphic designing, drama, films, etc.

It was held under the sponsorship of Ahasa Media Network CEO headed by Mrs. Priyanga Bandaranaike for the third consecutive year.   

Former Minister Rear Admiral Sarath Weerasekera MP,  ANCL Thinakaran Chief Editor Senthil Velavar, Tamilnadu India Nandawanam Publication Chief Editor Nandawanam Chandrasekeran, and ITN former Chairman Sudath Rohana also presented awards to the recipients
