Cries Unheard!

Cries Unheard!

The cries of the woman,
As her lover dies,
No petrol or tuks to take him to a hospital close by,
So she rests his eyes,
While he gives his last confession,
For he knows even if he tries,
Today, he won’t survive.
The cries of the people,
As the tear-gas forces tears from their eyes,
The starvation of the children ’cause their parents can’t afford to buy rice,
The salaries too less, not matching the increased price,
So, the people on the road protest for their fundamental rights.
Nights transform in to mornings, days continuing,
The prices keep increasing,
The petrol queues are never ending,
The children are starving,
And a few are dying,
For all they care ’cause they have power to flee, flying.
They say with power comes great responsibility,
And Frankly speaking he hasn’t only failed the community,
Nor has he failed the society or country,
But he has failed himself completely,
