.COLOMBO : “ While appreciating the efforts made by the producers in their documentary detailing the suffering of the Muslims , I wish to point out that the issue really was the result of the racist regime that was in power,” former minister,Faiszer Mustapha said.
Speaking to Colombo Times after watching a documentary on the cremation of COVID infected Muslim bodies on Thursday, July 11, Faiszer Mustapha said : “ President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and his regime thought it fit to punish the Muslims ,Tamils and other minorities since they did not vote for him.”
“ It was as a result of this racist , bigoted and inhumane view that the Muslims were forced to cremate their dead.”
“The politicians within the then Government also watched idly knowing very well that these decisions were not based on any rational reason.”
“It is this that we must seek to portray and prevent happening to any community be it the majority or the minority,”he concluded
