COLOMBO : The ministry of foreign affairs has restricted its functions in its consular division due to rising incidence of Covid cases in the country.
In a statement issued by the foreign ministry on Wednesday ,April 28, it is says : “ The health and safety of those visiting the Consular Affairs Division of the Foreign Ministry to obtain its services is our utmost priority.
Due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation, and health guidelines issued recently, our ability to provide some consular services may be limited.
Therefore, we will prioritize the services provided by the Consular Affairs Division to those in urgent/genuine need, during the coming weeks.
The consular services, except the cases of deaths of Sri Lankans overseas and attestation of export documents and other related certificates, are done strictly by appointment only.
