Conference focuses on gender equality

COLOMBO :The Centre for Gender Studies , University of Kelaniya 2nd International Confrence on Gender Disparities 23 was held recently  at the  Hotel Ramada Colombo. 

Welcome address was delivered  by Dr. Anusha Edirisinghe, Vice Chancellor of Kelaniya Universit,  Keynote Address was made by Senior Professor Maithree Wikremesinghe, Guest of Honor was  Azusa Kubota, Chief Guest was Senior Professor Chandana P. Udawatta, Vice Chairman University Grant Commission  participated in  the inaugural ceremony.

This conference is the Centre Studies of the University of Kelaniya which hosted the second International Confrence on Gender Disparities’ with an unwavering commitment to the reduction of gender inequality. 

 This global gathering aimed to ignite transformative conversation around gender equality policies and initiatives implemented across nations.

Over 70 research papers were  received which attracted  the academic community  from university professors ,undergraduates and post-graduate students alike, 

The research themes encompassed Gender. Sustainability , Development  Education, Environment Climate change Technological innovation, power and Equality, Governance and Rights ,Diversity and  Heritage pay gap. Wages and Empowerment , Sexual and Gender -Based violence , and Gender and Global conflicts.
