COLOMBO : The academic staff of KJM International College, Sri Lanka, participated in a solemn memorial ceremony held at the Cultural Centre of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Colombo, to pay tribute to the memory of Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Friday July 10.
The ceremony brought together academics, religious scholars, cultural personalities, in an atmosphere of reflection, respect, and remembrance. Participants shared their thoughts and messages, highlighting the late leader’s lifelong commitment to Islamic unity, spiritual guidance, justice, moral values, and social responsibility.
Representatives of KJM International College expressed their profound respect for the enduring legacy of Ayatollah Khamenei, emphasizing the importance of preserving the values of faith, knowledge, sacrifice, and ethical leadership that shaped his life and teachings. They noted that such commemorative gatherings play an important role in strengthening mutual understanding and fostering cultural dialogue and friendship between the peoples of Sri Lanka and Iran.
Addressing the gathering, the Cultural Counsellor of the Iran Cultural Center at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Sri Lanka, Dr. Ali Kebriyayi Zadeh, highlighted the emphasis placed by Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on building a society based on knowledge, moral values, ethics, and spirituality. He stated that true human excellence is achieved through the harmony of knowledge and a strong moral character.
Dr. Zadeh further emphasized that schools and universities serve as essential foundations in the pursuit of wisdom, enlightenment, and personal growth. He noted their vital role in nurturing individuals who contribute positively to society through education, ethical values, and spiritual awareness.
Speaking on behalf of KJM International College, Principal Ms. Zameeha Haladeen expressed her heartfelt condolences on the passing of Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei. She stated that his life and legacy represent a significant chapter in contemporary history, distinguished by his dedication to spiritual values, knowledge, morality, and service to society. She further expressed hope that his teachings and contributions would continue to inspire future generations.
The ceremony concluded with prayers for peace, unity, and prosperity for the Muslim world and all communities. Attendees reaffirmed their commitment to upholding the values of justice, compassion, human dignity, and mutual respect.
