46 distinguished personalities honoured at Thinachudar National Awards ceremony
The distinguished personalities from various fields were honoured at the second phase of the ‘Dinachudar National Awards’ ceremony organised by the Sri Lanka United Congress.
The awards ceremony was held on Thursday September 17 at the Colombo Public Library Auditorium in Colombo .
Colombo Times journalist Afra Ansar was honoured with the ‘Young Literary Lady Excellence Award’ in recognition of her contribution to literature and writing.
The event was held under the leadership of Dinachudar newspaper Editor and veteran journalist A.M. Mubarak.
Colombo District Member of Parliament Mujibur Rahman attended the event as the Chief Guest.
Film director and actor Thiruvai Mozhi Kesavan and artist Gunasekaran, among others, attended as special guests.
The award recipients were selected from among various parts of the country and represented fields including journalism, poetry, photography, writing, social activism, cinema, singing, acting, literature, theatre, poetry, social service, publishing, beauty and sports.
