COLOMBO — The Editor-in-Chief of Colombo Times and Chief Correspondent for Arab News in Sri Lanka, Mohammad Rasooldeen, hosted an Iftar reception at the Indian Summer Restaurant in Colombo on Monday, March 16.
Colombo Times, a leading web portal in Sri Lanka, is currently published in English, Sinhala, and Tamil.
The Editor-in-Chief of Colombo Times, Mohammad Rasooldeen, delivered the welcome address at the event.
Western Province Governor Hanif Yusuf attended the event as the Chief Guest, while Deputy Speaker of Parliament Dr. Rizvi Salih participated as a special guest.
Among the distinguished guests present were Badli Hisham Adam, High Commissioner of Malaysia; Semih Lütfü Turgut, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye; Ihab I. M. Khalil, Ambassador of the State of Palestine; Massod Imad from the High Commission of the Republic of Maldives; Trinh Thi Tam, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; and Levan S. Dzhagaryan, Ambassador of the Russian Federation.
During the event, Shaheera Rasooldeen highlighted the growth and development of Colombo Times under the guidance of her father, Mohammad Rasooldeen.
At the Iftar gathering, Ash Sheikh Shafraz Iqbal of Hejaaz International School conducted special prayers for peace and harmony around the world.
Former Ministers Ali Sabry and A. H. M. Fowzie, former Ambassadors Ibrahim Ansar and Maznavee Sadiq, Traveller Global Private Limited Chairman Rizmi Reyal, Hajj Committee Chairman Reyaz Mihular, Dr. B. A. Hussaimiya, Public Relations Officer to the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs Ms. Razmina Hassan, and Coordinating Officer to the Mayor of Colombo Ms. Firoza Niyas were also among those who attended the event.
