KANDY All Tamil schools in the Central Province (CP) will remain close on Friday Nov.5 on the occasion of Deepavali day which falls on Thursday, according to Central Province Governor Lalith U. Gamage.
Meanwhile, Uva and Sabaragamuwa Province Governors also decided to close Tamil schools in their provinces.
Accordingly, the principals and teachers of all Tamil schools in the CP have been instructed to consider this November 13 as an additional school day instead of the holiday.
The Deepavali day is considered as one of the major religious festivals of the Hindu community.
