COLOMBO – The Flag Hoisting Ceremony of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Colombo, for the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, was held at the Embassy premises in Colombo on Monday, August 17. The ceremony was held under the patronage of Indonesian Ambassador to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Dewi Gustina Tobing.
The event was attended by Indonesian residents in Sri Lanka, representatives of the Sri Lanka–Indonesia Friendship Association (SLIFA), including Vice President Thariq Thulba and members, as well as teachers and students from various schools, religious leaders and embassy officials.
Following the flag-hoisting ceremony, Ambassador Dewi Gustina Tobing, in her remarks, thanked the Indonesian community in Sri Lanka for attending the event. She also expressed her appreciation to the Sri Lankan representatives and members of the community who participated in the ceremony.
The Ambassador also cut the anniversary cake to commemorate the 81st anniversary of Indonesia’s independence.
