COLOMBO : The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal to extend the retirement age of Sri Lanka’s superior court judges, according to government sources.
The proposal received Cabinet approval at its meeting held Monday, July (27), the sources said.
The proposal seeks to extend the retirement age of judges serving in the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal. A bill to extend the term will be presented in the parliament which would require a two third majority in the legislature.
