Building Educational Bridges: KIU University Sri Lanka Visits the Embassy of Viet Nam

COLOMBO : A delegation from KIU University, Sri Lanka, visited the Embassy of Viet Nam in Colombo on Wednesday, 9th April to explore educational collaborations and academic opportunities for Vietnamese students.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by Trinh Thi Tam, Ambassador of Viet Nam , and Mr. Le Van Huong, Minister Counselor and Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy.

Representing KIU University were its President, Dr. Jagath Seneviratne; Vice Chancellor, Dr. Sajeewanie Lianarachchi; Chief of Global Strategic Partnerships, Ms. Thishani Rodrigo; Registrar, Ms. Sashini Caldera; and Head of Business Development – International, Ms. Loodeesha Ekanayake.

The discussions focused on creating academic pathways for Vietnamese students in Sri Lanka, particularly in English-medium degree programmes and specialised areas such as Acupuncture and Caregiving. Both parties expressed a strong interest in future collaboration through student exchange, cultural initiatives, and the development of joint academic programmes.

They also explored opportunities for offering scholarships and broadening academic offerings to encourage cross-border learning and integration.

This visit marks a promising step in strengthening bilateral educational ties between Sri Lanka and Viet Nam. The Embassy reaffirmed its commitment to supporting such collaborative efforts that empower youth, people to people links and promote academic engagement.
