Building Bridges Through Education: Welcoming Sri Lankan Education Administrators to New Delhi

NEW DELHI : A group of 20 Sri Lankan education administrators, including Provincial and Zonal Directors of Education representing the Central, Western, Uva, Sabaragamuwa, Northern, North Western and Southern Provinces, visited the Residence of the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in New Delhi  on 07 October 2026.

The delegation is in India from 5–16 October, participating in a Capacity Development Programme organised by India’s National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), aimed at strengthening professional knowledge and skills in educational planning, management and administration.

During the interaction with the delegation, the High Commissioner highlighted the importance of the India–Sri Lanka partnership in supporting Sri Lanka’s economic growth and development, including through capacity-building, skills development, investment, trade and tourism. She also underscored the deep civilisational links, shared cultural heritage and longstanding people-to-people ties between Sri Lanka and India, which continue to provide a strong foundation for closer cooperation and the progress and prosperity of both countries.
